The beginning of Niagara’s patented cycloid action dates back to the 1920s in the coal fields of Canada. The coal miners discovered that by leaning against a mining machine, they could get immediate relief for aching backs and joints. The Wettlaufer Brothers were inventors, and when they heard about this they began researching this revolutionary new ‘process’.

Owen K. Murphy comes across the cycloid action technology in 1948, just after World War II. Celebrity TV Show Host Réal Giguère Becomes Niagara's Spokesperson
Réal Giguère becomes the official spokesperson for Niagara Cyclomassage products, also known as Ultrassage Niagara Therapy, in Quebec. That year, he appeared in a televised commercial broadcast on french national TV, where he promoted the benefits of Niagara products.
